Why Vitamin D

Did you know vitamin D is known as the "Miracle Medicine", it has been known to reduce cancer rates by 77%.

How do you know if you need Vitamin D first you need to start with a base line blood test to determine you levels. Normal is 20 -80 ng/DL. Ideally you want to be as close to 80 as possible or above 60ng/DL.Less than #0 ng/DL are considered deficient

If you need a blood test call and we can write one for you or go to Any Lab Test Now and order your own test.

Lower than normal levels can put you at a increased risk for breast ,colon cancer, leukemia, and melanoma. Reason why is that Vit D inhibits angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels that permit the spread of cancer cells through the body.

Great sources of Vitamin D form foods:
Cheese,butter,cream,fortified milks,fish,oysters,Fortified cereals.

15-20 min 3 times per week exercise in the sun such as a walk gives you Vit D as well, caution if it is overcast or cloudy you will not get you Vit D.

Caution if a little is good is a lot better NO! To much can cause you to pull calcium from your bones and depositing it in the blood and then it will end up in the heart and lung tissues thus reducing there function.

Remember the simple steps

1.Get the blood test done
2.Read the results/consult with Chiropractor or MD
3.Add Good source Vit D and increase food source of Vit D if less than Normal
4.Exercise in the outdoors 3 times per week

What foods cause pains? What are inflammatory foods.

Eating foods high in Omega-6 cause increase in joint pain these foods are pro-inflammatory which increase your joint pain.Corn, sunflower, cottonseed, safflower, and soybean oils; grains, packaged food, avoid these foods.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids are anti-inflammatory. The best sources of omega-3 Fatty acids: fish, fish oil, wild game,grass-fed animals, green vegetables, flax seeds, chia seeds.

Researchers from Harvard University indicate that a large proportion of the general population is at increased risk for developing chronic inflammatory disease, in part due to inadequate nutrient intake.

Make healthier food choices to aid in decreasing your joint pains. Eat more Omega 3 foods. If you can't get enough Omega 3 foods then try our new lemon flavored Omega 3 formula, great taste in a easy to assimilate form.

80 % of American children and adolescents and 70% of adults do not eat five vegetable and fruit servings a day (3 vegetables, 2 fruits).

One source that shares how deficient our food choices are. A great reason to support taking a daily multiple vitamin. Use caution with "Cheap vitamins", what is the source and is it safe? What country are your raw ingrediences coming from? Is the source organic or you taking a pesticide laden vitamin supplements? These are interesting questions we should be asking ourselves.

Food for thought!

Stay Healthy till next time
